November 2021 – Diane Kelly Runyon and Kim Shoemaker Starr to Present “Buried Secrets”

National League of American Pen Women Central Ohio Branch

“Buried Secrets”

Kim Shoemaker Starr and Diane Kelly Runyon collaborated on a book which has taken them places they never imagined: Louisville to accept an Emmy for a video about their findings, construction sites to view remains of bodies, and exit doors shown to them when they tried to do presentations about their book in Upper Arlington.  We are thrilled to welcome both of them: the investigator and the author of Secrets Under the Parking Lot – The Pleasant Litchford Story.  Their book will be available, credit card payment only.

Tuesday, November 2nd 1 – 3 PM

Main Library, 96 S. Grant Ave. Columbus, 43215 (Park in library lot for nominal fee)

The Auditorium on the first floor, accommodates 150+ people

Doors open at 12:30 for a 1:00 presentation, business meeting to take place AFTER the presentation.

This is an EXCELLENT time to invite guests (book club friends, prospective members, friends who may be interested.  We have LOTS of space!)

Diane Kelly Runyon is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists and the Ulster Foundation of Northern Ireland. Diane was a teacher for thirty years and was awarded the Ohio History Teacher of the Year in 2012. She continues her post graduate work in Early American Life, at Yale University. She is the owner of Lineage Links LLC, a genealogical and historical research firm. Diane resides in Noblesville, Indiana.

Kim Shoemaker Starr is a gravestone restoration specialist. Kim has restored numerous cemeteries throughout the United States. She presently is finishing restoring the headstones at the Ann Simpson Davis Cemetery in Upper Arlington. In 2016, Kim was bestowed the Historic Preservation Recognition Award. She is also a member of Colonial Dames. Kim was born and raised in Upper Arlington. Her children also graduated UAHS. Kim still resides in Upper Arlington, Ohio.

Diane and Kim are members of the Daughters of the American Revolution. They have both been awarded Women in American History by DAR. In 2019, they won an Emmy Award for the Pleasant Litchford Story.
