Margaret Hanna Wins Poetry Award
Margaret “Peg” Hanna’s poem, “In Her Mirror,” won second prize in the Catherine Cushman Leach Poetry Award competition. The competition, for a poem of merit, published or unpublished, is part of the NLAPW 50th Biennial Letters Competitions.

Jane Flewellen’s oil on board painting, Egg Trio 1, has been selected for inclusion in the 18th Annual Bryn du Art Show in Granville, Ohio. This annual, juried exhibition features 88 works selected from 722 submissions (from Ohio and 11 other states).

The Ohio Artist Registry 2022 Juried Show
Life is Good – Encaustic Mixed Media by Bev Goldie
Bev Goldie’s encaustic mixed media work, Life is Good, is being exhibited in the Ohio Artist Registry 2022 Juried Show at the Carnegie Gallery, Columbus Metropolitan Main Library, 96 S. Grant Ave. Columbus, OH. This annual exhibition is a joint project of the Ohio Arts Council, Friends of the Library, and Columbus Metropolitan Library. It was juried by Elizabeth Emery, Eddie Woda, and Tia Ramey. Evangelia Philippidis also has a work exhibited.

Central Ohio Branch Visits Van Gogh Exhibition
Nine members of the Central Ohio Branch and a “penguin” guest attended a tour of the Van Gogh exhibition at the Columbus Museum of Art on February 1st. The special exhibit featured original paintings and artworks not only of Van Gogh, but of other notable artists and influences from the same era. They were treated to a docent’s presentation of how the exhibit came about and how it was curated. She also shared a lot of biographical background, explaining how and why certain events took place in Van Gogh’s life.
