Longtime Member Mary Hoffman to Be Featured on Radio Program

Central Ohio Branch member Mary Hoffman will be featured on Sunday, July 23, at 1pm on the radio program Music in Mid-Ohio on Classical 101 (FM dial). Christopher Purdy will host a broadcast of a Jefferson Academy of Music recital of two Haydn chamber works performed by the Euclid Quartet at the Columbus Museum of Art auditorium on Sunday afternoon, April 9, 2017, during which Mary Hoffman read appropriate commentary before movements of “The Seven Last Words of Christ.” The longtime NLAPW member of our local branch is a former program director and on-air host of WOSU-FM (known then … ...See more

Artist Member Dawn Petrill’s Work to be at the Ohio State Fair

Dawn Petrill’s painting, Memories’ Quiet Interlude, was selected to be exhibited at the Ohio State Fair Fine Art Exhibition going on from July 26-August 6.

Cost: Free with admission to the Ohio State Fair

 
She also has 3 paintings hung at Starbucks in Downtown Dublin for the month of July.  They will be part of the Dublin Area Art League’s Art Stroll where artists are paired with local businesses from July 7-31.  A map will be available for all who wish to stroll around Downtown Dublin and look at all the great art!

Writer Member Brenda Layman Published in Ohio Valley Outdoors Magazine

Writer member Brenda Layman’s article, “Ohio Dog Trainer Offers Specialty Seminars,” was published in the Summer issue of Ohio Valley Outdoors Magazine. She has been a frequent contributor to the hunting, fishing, and conservation-oriented publication for several years.

Mary Hoffman to Appear with Euclid Quartet

National League of American Pen Women Central Ohio Branch

The Euclid Quartet will perform “Haydn: Seven Last Words” at the Columbus Museum of Art as part of the Jefferson Signature Series at 3pm on Sunday, April 9, 2017. Central Ohio member Mary Hoffman, the venerable voice of classical music on WOSU for several decades, will abandon her retirement for the afternoon to read thoughtful comments on the phrases that comprise the Seven Last Words.

Tickets are available at the museum – $30 general admission, $25 for seniors, $10 for students.

The Columbus Museum of Art is located at 480 East Broad Street.

Artist Member Dawn Petrill’s Work Accepted into Juried Show

Artist Member Dawn Petrill’s painting, Shadowlands II, has been accepted into a Women’s Works 30th Anniversary juried show at the Old Courthouse Arts Center in Woodstock, IL, from March 9 to April 29. There is no cost to view the show.

Rosalie Ungar, NLAPW national member is the author of two consecutive memoirs: “No Sex in St. Tropez” and her most recent, “IN A HEARTBEAT: The Ups and Downs of Life With Atrial Fib”. She was recently featured in this Healthy New Albany Magazine article.
