Jennifer Hambrick to Perform at Denison University

National League of American Pen Women Central Ohio Branch

Poet Jennifer Hambrick will be performing in Denison University’s TUTTI Festival in “Words and Music,” a program featuring new musical works in response to Hambrick’s poetry and performed by ETHEL, quartet-in-residence at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art and Denison University.

Saturday, March 7 at 1 p.m. in Denison University’s Michael D. Eisner Center for the Performing Arts, Sharon Martin Hall. Free and open to the public.

Jennifer Hambrick Appointed Artist-in-Residence

By way of an invitation-only application process, Jennifer Hambrick was recently appointed the first Artist-in-Residence at historic Bryn Du Mansion (Granville, Ohio) and is serving in that capacity October – November 2019. During her residency, Hambrick will lead poetry writing workshops and will present her poetry in readings, in a concert of new music with the world-renowned new music string quartet and Denison University Quartet-in-Residence ETHEL, and with a professional jazz combo in a cabaret-like evening of jazz improvisations in response to her experimental haiku.

Premier of Jennifer Hambrick’s Poem Set to Orchestral Song

A poem by Jennifer Hambrick has been set to music as an orchestral song by Columbus composer Jacob Reed, and the song will be given its world premiere by the McConnell Arts Center Chamber Orchestra in Worthington on Sunday, April 29 at 3 p.m. The new setting of her poem will be featured alongside Jacob Reed’s musical settings of a poem by Rumi and a poem by a Thomas Worthington High School student.
