Renate Fackler’s “Muggs” Sculpture Dedicated August 28

Renate Fackler was commissioned by the family of James Thurber and Thurber House to create a bronze sculpture of James Thurber’s mother’s dog, known as “Muggs, The Dog that Bit People.” Muggs, an Airedale terrier, bit the mailman, the milk man and even the mayor! James’s mother, Mame, would bake treats every Christmas for all of the people Muggs bit—including the lieutenant governor! Renate Fackler’s Sculptures Featured in German Village

Two bronze sculptures by Renate Fackler, “Madonna and Baby Jesus” and “Mrs. Plank,” are featured in the Garden of Peace at St. Mary’s Church in German Village, Columbus, Ohio. The Kelley Family, who are grandchildren of Mrs. Plank, are responsible for the beautiful garden and the sculptural additions that where installed in the summer of 2019 .

Renate Fackler will be showing her work at Gallery 22 in Delaware, Ohio, along with artist James Mason. Fackler will be exhibiting sculpture and Mason will be exhibiting paintings.
The show opens July 5, from 6-8:30, at Gallery 22, 22 East Winter Street, Delaware, 43015. Gallery 22’s hours are 6-8:30 p.m., Friday through Saturday. The show runs through August 24th.

Renate Fackler’s Bronze Sculptures Featured

National League of American Pen Women Central Ohio Branch

Renate Fackler’s bronze sculptures are featured in “Urban Pocket Prairie,” in the Spring and Summer edition of  Home and Garden, which features German Village garden delights, including Renate’s meadow-like garden. A colorful full-page photo shows her bronze sculpture “Cultivating Beauty,” which is tucked among the perennials showcased in her garden. She has also been commissioned to proceed with two life-sized bronze sculptures for St. Mary’s Church and a Meditation Garden. German Village and St. Mary’s Church are in Columbus, Ohio.
