Ann Alaia Woods to Demonstrate Papermarbling

National League of American Pen Women Central Ohio Branch

 

Ann Alaia Woods will present a demonstration of hand papermarbling in the Community Room at Whetstone Community Center (next door to Whetstone Library in Clintonville) on March 23, 2020, at 6:45 p.m.

The event will take place on a Monday evening and, while the center is always busy, parking is both ample and free. Come and watch this play between chemistry and art!

 

 

Jennifer Hambrick to Perform at Denison University

National League of American Pen Women Central Ohio Branch

Poet Jennifer Hambrick will be performing in Denison University’s TUTTI Festival in “Words and Music,” a program featuring new musical works in response to Hambrick’s poetry and performed by ETHEL, quartet-in-residence at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art and Denison University.

Saturday, March 7 at 1 p.m. in Denison University’s Michael D. Eisner Center for the Performing Arts, Sharon Martin Hall. Free and open to the public.

Deborah Anderson Textile Art Exhibition

National League of American Pen Women Central Ohio Branch

An exhibition of twelve quilts by Deborah Anderson is currently showing at Argo-Lehne Jewelers. The exhibition began Jan. 6th and ends March 26th, 2020. An artist’s reception will be held on Thursday January 23rd from 5-7 pm.

Argo-Lehne is located in the south-west corner of Kingsdale shopping center at 2100 Tremont Road. Free parking is available. Argo-Lehne is open from 10-7pm weekdays and 10am-5pm on Saturday.

There is no cost.

Renate Fackler’s Sculptures Featured in German Village

Two bronze sculptures by Renate Fackler, “Madonna and Baby Jesus” and “Mrs. Plank,” are featured in the Garden of Peace at St. Mary’s Church in German Village, Columbus, Ohio. The Kelley Family, who are grandchildren of Mrs. Plank, are responsible for the beautiful garden and the sculptural additions that where installed in the summer of 2019 .

Bev Goldie Showing Work at Wittenberg University

Bev Goldie is showing work in theĀ  “Wax to the Max” Encaustic Exhibition showing at Wittenberg University’s Koch Hall from Oct. 4 – 31. A reception and gallery talk will occur from 3 – 5 PM on Sunday October 13th in Thompson Gallery. All are welcome.

Free parking adjacent to the building (behind the Admissions Office).

Cost: No fee.

Jennifer Hambrick Appointed Artist-in-Residence

National League of American Pen Women Central Ohio Branch

By way of an invitation-only application process, Jennifer Hambrick was recently appointed the first Artist-in-Residence at historic Bryn Du Mansion (Granville, Ohio) and is serving in that capacity October – November 2019. During her residency, Hambrick will lead poetry writing workshops and will present her poetry in readings, in a concert of new music with the world-renowned new music string quartet and Denison University Quartet-in-Residence ETHEL, and with a professional jazz combo in a cabaret-like evening of jazz improvisations in response to her experimental haiku.
