Artist Bev Goldie was recently awarded the Aminah Lynn Robinson Professional Development & Research Grant. Goldie was selected by Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther, Members of the Columbus City Council, and the Greater Columbus Arts Council. She plans to use the funds to underwrite a trip to Santa Fe for the Encaustic Institute’s biennial conference and workshops.

Abby Feinknopf will exhibit a new collection of acrylic paintings at Highline Coffee Art Space in Worthington in September and October. An artist reception is scheduled for Saturday, September 8, 2-4 PM.
Always enamored with patterns, especially those found in nature, Feinknopf often incorporates them in her work in one way or another. A proponent of recycling and re-purposing, she sometimes includes the interior sides of security envelopes and other ephemera in her art due to the characteristics of their unique patterns. A poem by Jennifer Hambrick has been set to music as an orchestral song by Columbus composer Jacob Reed, and the song will be given its world premiere by the McConnell Arts Center Chamber Orchestra in Worthington on Sunday, April 29 at 3 p.m. The new setting of her poem will be featured alongside Jacob Reed’s musical settings of a poem by Rumi and a poem by a Thomas Worthington High School student.
