“Words and Music” was the title of Jennifer Hambrick’s entertaining and informative September 12th address to the Central Ohio Branch of the National League of American Pen Women. Officers, members, friends, and guests gathered in the Friends Theater at the Upper Arlington Library on Tremont Road. Ms. Hambrick, engaged in multiple careers in music, writing, and broadcasting, is music director and on-air host for Classical 101 as well as creator, host, and producer of The American Sound.

Artist Member Abby Feinknopf’s Collage at Studios on High – Members Invited
Artist member, Abby Feinknopf, will have an acrylic collage at Studios on High, 686 N. High Street, Columbus, OH, in their upcoming show, “Hit the Hop.” The show opens on September 2nd for the Gallery Hop.
NLAPW members are invited to join Abby at the Artists’ Reception, Sunday, September 10th, from 4 to 6 p.m.
Recommended parking is at the Pizutti Garage on West Lincoln. Street parking is also available. There is no fee for the show.

Writer member, Rosalie Ungar, will be appearing at Gramercy Book store in Bexley, Ohio, this Saturday, August 26th from 1 to 4 PM.
Come and browse the bookstore while Rosalie and other local authors sign and sell books. Rosalie will offer both of her books: No Sex in St. Tropez and IN A HEARTBEAT: The Ups and Downs of Life with Atrial Fib.

Writer Member Margaret “Peg” Hanna to Participate in Local Authors Event
Margaret “Peg” Hanna will be among the authors participating in a local authors event this weekend, August 12 – 13, at Gramercy Bookstore in Bexley, Ohio. She will be meeting readers and signing books at the bookstore on Saturday afternoon from 1:00 to 4:00. Her book, While . . . Born During WWII, will be available for purchase.
Gramercy Bookstore is located at 2424 East Main Street in Bexley. Parking is available on East Main Street, along Cassady Avenue, or in an adjacent parking lot behind the bookstore accessed via Cassady Avenue.
There is no cost for the event.
Artist Member Kathy Anderson’s Painting in Columbus Crossing Borders Project
Kathy Anderson is one of 34 Ohio artists participating in the Columbus Crossing Borders Art Project. The traveling art exhibit is an effort to raise awareness of the plight of refugees and immigrants. The artists have been challenged to “cross the border” into one another’s paintings, creating a visual collage as a tribute to those fleeing war, terror, and persecution.
All proceeds from fundraisers or sale of art will go to CRIS; Columbus Refugee and Immigration Services.
The documentary will premier August 31 at 7:00 PM at the Drexel Theater, 2254 East Main Street, Bexley, Ohio 43209.
